Amazon Web Services (AWS) has announced a two-year US$50-million investment to aid public sector organisations accelerate innovation in support of critical missions using the company’s generative AI services and infrastructure.
The company will provide promotional credits, training, and technical expertise across AI generative projects. The credits will be determined by the customer’s experience developing new technology solutions, the maturity of the project idea, evidence of future solution adoption, and the customer’s breadth of generative AI skills, among others.
“Across the public sector, leaders are seeking to leverage generative AI to become more efficient and agile,” Dave Levy, Vice President of Worldwide Public Sector at AWS, said in a statement. “However, public sector organisations face several challenges such as optimising resources, adapting to changing needs, improving patient care, personalising the education experience, and strengthening security.”
The global AWS Public Sector Generative Artificial Intelligence (AI) Impact Initiative will be open from June 26, 2024 until June 30, 2026 and will offer:
- Tailored training
- Generative AI Innovation Center expertise: Ideate, identify, and implement generative AI solutions securely with guidance from the Generative AI Innovation Center
- Technical support from AWS technical experts
- Networking and free builder sessions including access to AWS Summit events around the world
- And global thought leadership opportunities to showcase success stories with AWS marketing resources.
The initiative is open to new or existing AWS Worldwide Public Sector customers and partners from international enterprises who are building generative AI solutions.
